Progressive enhancements are when a website is able to be accessed easily on any type of browser, tablet, screen reader and mobile device. The websites are broken into three different sections. These three distinct sections are HTML, CSS, and Java.
- Why are Progressive Enhancements needed?
Progressive enhancements are needed to for accessibility, portability, modularity, and site performance. This allows for content to be accessed easily for users using all types of browsers. This design caters to all browsers that are using the website. It will also makes it easier to design and maintain websites by breaking the design into 3 different parts. This design helps with overall performance of the website.

The site does not validate. This site has 52 errors and 37 warnings.

The second page was a link for 5 ways to speed up page response times. The site did not validate. It had 43 errors and 38 warnings.
- How would you rate the site's design, on a scale of 1(horrible) to 10 (fantastic)? Why?
I would rate the site a 8. The site had 3 colors white background, black font, and grey lists. These colors created a good contrast. The main navigation links were clearly and consistently labled. The color and graphics did not distract from the site.
- How would you rate the site's usability on a scale of 1 (horrible) to 10 (fantastic)? Why?
I would rate the site usability a 8. The information was listed horizontally and easy to scroll through the lists and paragraphs. The site map was anchored at the top of the webpage and could be accessed at any time.
- Does the site meet it's purpose?
The website's purpose is to explain the basics of progressive enhancements,inspire and encourage participation in CCS. The website gave a overview using lists and definitions to explain progressive enhancement.
